About DSZ WAVE
DSZ WAVE is the Delft Student Swimming- Water polo- and Triatlon Association. Both university- and applied science students are welcome.
WAVE focuses on sport but we also organize a number of social activities such as a Christmas dinner, a gala, the WAVE Weekend, wintersports and smaller activities like bowling or a mario kart tournament. Check out the following link for activities coming up activities.
WAVE activities are powered by it’s members in the various committees. Joining a committee is highly appreciated within the club! For more information, read the committee page.
Costs
A membership costs €68 annually. Additionally an subscription from X is required (the sports centre of the TU Delft), which costs €130,- annually. In the membership, the costs for participating in the student swimming competition and team enrollment for the water polo is included.
Swimming
WAVE is a competition swimming club, which means everyone is welcome, as long as you can swim. The level ranges from beginners to the national top level. Everyone can train five times a week. The practices are aimed at the five most fun competitions of the year, the Dutch Student Swimming Championships (in dutch NSZK, Nederlandse Studenten ZwemKompetitie) and the NKS (the Dutch Student Championships). The competition reflects WAVE in the sense that all swimming levels are represented. Don’t hesitate to join the student Championships. The Championships always end with a big party together with all other student swimming associations in the Netherlands.
##Stukje van Constance/Viktor – – Swimmers with starting licenses also get the opportunity to swim in the national B-competition with the other swim and waterpolo club we share our pool with, d’ELFT. This means that swimmers do not have to pay contribution to both clubs which has been the main reason a lot of WAVE’rs have decided to get a start license.
If you already have a start license at a different club, this is no problem. There are a couple WAVE’rs who still have the license at their home club but train with WAVE throughout their time in Delft. In this case it is possible to join WAVE at the student competitions, NSZK & NKS.

Water polo
At WAVE you can play water polo on different levels: from beginner until third class federation league. Every team is filled with students who are besides fanatical players also always in for a drink in the pool afterwards. In the summer they go to some of the many tournaments throughout the country. Are you studying in Delft? Than is playing water polo at WAVE a fantastic experience. This is the moment to continue or start your water polo career!
This season WAVE will have three teams in the competition and one in the student competition (the student competition has four matches per year). DSZ WAVE H1 (gents 1) plays in the third class federation league, DSZ WAVE H2 (gents 2) in the third class district, DSZ WAVE D1 (ladies 1) in the second class district and DSZ WAVE 3 plays in the student beginners competition. In short, we have room for everyone, experienced to fairly new. You are also free to just attend the practices and skip the matches (not if you are in H1, H2 or D1).

Triathlon
Triathlon is a new, but fast growing section of WAVE. We offer a lot of training time as for the triathletes of all levels. The triathletes are welcome at all swimming practices. Of course there are cycling- and running practices every week.
